Dr. Zsolt Csók is expert archaeologist, specialized in the research of medieval built heritage, theoretical lecturer of the Institutional System of Heritage Protection course at the Built Heritage Conservation Training.

He started his institutional activity in 2009, as a scientific researcher within the Zalău County Museum of History and Art, then he was a specialist referent in the field of archeology at the Sălaj County Culture Directorate. From 2014 to the present, he has been working within the National Museum of Transylvanian History in Cluj (MNIT). At the same time, he is an associate professor at Babeș-Bolyai University (2016) and Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu (2018), teaching courses related to the management of built heritage rehabilitation projects, medieval archaeology, medieval history and urban history. During 2020-2024 he was a member of the National Commission of Archeology, and from 2022 and currently he is a member of the Technical Section of Architecture and Engineering – National Commission of Historical Monuments. As for the specialized certificates, he holds the certificate of expert archaeologist and specialist with the signature right for urban planning documentations.

As an archaeologist of MNIT Cluj, in the period between 2014-2024, he was scientifically responsible for the site and research project within over 60 heritage sites (churches, fortresses, castles) and large infrastructure (highways, high-speed roads, express roads) projects. The most important objectives where he coordinated the archaeological research: the House of Religious Freedom in Cluj (Europa Nostra award), the Church of Saint Michael in Cluj (Europa Nostra award), the Reformed Churches in Dej, Huedin, the Unitarian Churches in Bădeni, Moldovenești.
